Type/Location:  New Branch – Warren, MI

Description:  The client was looking to replace an existing branch that was their original branch location but was located poorly.  Due to the fact that this was still a high traffic location we had to be very careful in our selection.  We were able to stretch out the coverage of OUR CU’s branch network while still maintaining the support of existing members.  The site we helped them purchase has excellent retail traffic drivers, access, traffic counts and has already helped them add many new members. We did run into some site/dirt issues but were able to work with a soil engineer to reduce the cost of addressing this significantly. 

We had created a prototype previously for OCU in Troy so this branch is based on that.  The client wanted to add a 2nd story to relieve some space issues at the HQ, which added a bit of size and complexity to the project.  Our team was able to design a two-story building that really stands out as compared to the surrounding retail buildings.  This branch will allow OCU to once again stand apart and compete in a newer market for them. The client is very happy with the results and feels confident that they will be able to break even very quickly on this branch.
